Fourth year medical students may apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) and the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for positions available in July following completion of PGY-1 clinical training, for which separate application is required.
Applicants who have already graduated from medical school should also apply through ERAS and NRMP.
International medical school graduates must be certified by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG). Only J1 Visas are accepted.
A Message From Our Program Head
Dear applicants,
Thank you for your interest in our Radiology Residency training program at Albany Medical Center.
The Albany Medical Center Department of Radiology offers a medium-size residency with a collegial, intellectually stimulating and friendly educational environment. You will work closely with our subspecialty attending radiologists dedicated to mentoring you through the radiology education process. With the large catchment area provided by the Albany Medical Center, there is a broad case mix from common pathology to rare disease. Residents learn by actively participating, which ultimately makes for a better radiologist. When it comes time to look for an attending or fellowship position, the intimate nature of this residency allows you to obtain personalized insight, guidance, and recommendations from members of our attending staff.
A high percentage of the residents have chosen to go on to subspecialty training in many of the nation’s most competitive institutions with careers in both academic medicine and private practice. We are proud of our training program and the residents we produce. We strive to provide a foundation for success.
We look forward to hearing from you!
Christine Cooley, M.D.
